Dr H. Rahmanian

Dr Rahmanian is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in both the NHS and the private sector. He qualified as a General Practitioner in 1998, and worked as GP for 5 years. He has worked in various specialities for a number of years before specialising in psychiatry, which provided him with an in-depth understanding of the impact of physical health on a person’s mental health and vice versa.

 

He has completed his basic training in psychiatry and higher training in adult psychiatry and acquired his subspecialty in perinatal training. He has extensive training in mood disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, eating disorders and acute mental health problems. He secured his position on the General Medical Council Specialist Register in February 2014.  He has been appointed as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Rahmanian is a clinical lead for Primary Care Mental Health Team in South London .

Dr. Rahmanian has worked on the establishment of a specialist pathway for people with personality disorders in primary care in south London .He has worked on the development of a new model of care in North and South London. He has also had extensive training from the National Centre for Eating Disorders and Adult ADHD.

Dr Rahmanian has a particular interest in transcultural aspects of mental health care and his expertise in assessing clients in other languages helps him in this respect. He is able to assess his clients with a special consideration towards their socio-cultural background.  Dr Rahmanian is fluent in Farsi and able to assess clients in English/Farsi languages.

He also has a keen interest in teaching, frequently teaching medical students, Foundation Doctors and Psychiatry Trainees in his NHS Trust. He is clinical supervisor to higher and core trainees

Dr Rahmanian also works for the Care Quality Commission as a specialist advisor.

 

Special Interests

Dr Rahmanian has assessed and treated a range of mental health disorders including ADHD in adults ,  Learning Disability, Eating disorders , Post traumatic stress disorder ,  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depressive illnesses, Anxiety disorders, Adjustment disorder,  self-harm, Psychotic disorders, Bipolar affective disorder , Schizo-affective disorder , Personality disorders and emotional dys-regulation and more.

•Royal college of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) – 2011

•Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry, 2014.

Approved Clinician and S12 (2) doctor within the meaning of the Mental Health Act 1983

Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists

 

Therapeutic Approach

​

Dr Rahmanian uses a holistic approach towards any difficulty affecting the person and the family. He will share an understanding of the difficulty from a biological, psychological and social model of care.

He engages with his patients  in a client centered approach.Dr Rahmanian follows NICE guideline and evidence based practice in his multi-axial approach and when appropriate respects patient’s decisions and safety in any pharmacological approaches and in the prescription of medication.

FEES:

£450 for the first assessment session which takes 90 minutes,

£300 per hour

£850 for ADHD/ADD assessment

£1100 for ASD assessment

Repeat prescription: £80 for controlled drugs and £20 for others

Dr Rahmanian is registered with most well known insurance companies including  BUPA, and CIGNA
